The Journey
My teammates, James, Alex and I developed this game during a hackathon (GameJam) at the University of Montreal (UdeM). This was my first French hackathon and my first time building a functional game, which was an eye-opening moment for me. The challenge was to create an educational game for international students aged 11 - 12 to learn French. Inspired by the mechanics of Pokémon, we built a multiplayer card game where players defend against attacks by correctly answering French language questions. Working with Unity on a project of this scale was difficult but it was a rewarding learning curve. Although we did not win anything, I am incredibly proud of how efficiently my team worked to deliver a fully functional game.
